A Unique Anniversary Gift
A great idea for any anniversary, a truly
romantic way of expressing your
innermost thoughts and feelings.
(Here's a good example of what can be achieved. Faith was going to be celebrating her tenth anniversary and wanted something special for her husband, Melvin, who is currently serving in Iraq. Faith has kindly given her permission for her poem and story to be published)
Dancing Hearts - Happy 10th Anniversary
What is your name :
Who do you want the poem written for: my husband Melvin
Why do you want the poem written: I want to wish my husband happy anniversary. It will be our 10th wedding anniversary on 7-16-04 and my husband is currently serving over seas in Iraq for a minimum of 1 year
What are the key messages you would like to send: My husband has been serving in the army national guard since graduating high school and is very proud to be serving his country. When we picked our wedding date it never dawned on either of us that every year around this time he would be away for his 2 weeks of summer camp with the guards, therefore most of our anniversaries have been spent apart. Usually he has been close by at these times . This will be the first one that we have been half way around the world from each other with him in the middle of a war. He has not only left behind me but also 3 beautiful children. Even half way around the world he still tries to take care of me. He sends me romantic e-mails and e-cards just to say he loves me. I am scared for him and yet so very, very proud of him. I want him to know how much I love him and miss him. I want him to know that even though he is not here he is in my heart always. I want him to come home soon.
Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable moments that you would like to share: He can be very romantic at times. Once while we were still dating we were driving at night some place, I can't remember where, and there was a misty rain falling and he decided to pull off the side of the road for no apparent reason. He turned the car radio up loudly and got out of the car. He came and opened my door and asked me to dance. There we were along side of the road slow dancing in the rain. It was wonderful.
We were on a family camping trip with his and my families when he asked my parents permission to marry me. That night it was just the 2 of us sitting around the camp fire when he asked me to marry him. I said yes of course.
Do you have any other comments or thoughts: I forgot to mention that we met at a country bar named celebrities. I was just learning to country dance when he came over and asked if he could help teach me . He had been going there for a while so he knew how to do the dances. Didn't know if this would be helpful
What style of poem would you prefer (happy, sad, romantic etc.)
: happy and very romantic
"Dear Allen, The poem that you have created for my husband was absolutely beautiful. Your words reflect exactly how I feel about this wonderful man. I wouldn't change anything about it. I have no problem at all if you wish to publish this poem at any time.
Thank You so much, Faith Moore"
and a few days later....
"I received my finished poem in the mail and it was beautiful.
The packaging was the final touch that made it perfect. I can't wait to send
it to my husband over in Iraq. Thank you again for doing such a wonderful job
