Q1: What is your Name?
A1: Amy Martiner
Q2: What is your Email Address?
Q3: Who do you want the poem written for ?
A3: to enclose in a birth/coming home announcement for my daughter Grace
Q4: Why do you want the poem written ?
A4: To thank all the people who have prayed and supported us while our daughter
was in the hospital for 5 months after being born very premature. Our daughter
GRACE has done better than the doctors ever predicted possible. (she almost died
a few times)
Q5: What are the key messages you would like the poem to send ?
A5: thank you for prayers and pos. thoughts...from friends/family and even from
those we don't even know personally..we are convinced that they are the reason
she survived and is going to be ok.
Q6: Do you have any funny, sad, happy, embarrassing or otherwise memorable
moments that you would like to share ?
Q7: Do you have any other comments or thoughts ?
A7: I'm looking for an eloquent way of thanking everyone for their prayers uring
this difficult time. The prayers (and simple pos. thoughts) worked, and we will
never forget the generosity of everyone that kept us in their prayers.
Q8: What style of poem would you prefer ? (Happy, sad, romantic etc.)
A8: Very brief poem, please. Communicates our indebtedness to everyone that
helped, and that our fiesty little Grace is going to be just fine. Not too
mushy, as it will be going to folks we don't know that well...but want to thank.
Q9: How did you find out about A Gift Of Poetry ? (If a search engine, please
specify which engine and search term you used)
A9: Google search "thank you poem"
Q10: Choose either the economy, standard, unique or deluxe package.
Our little miracle is coming home,
and we have a wonderful sense of pride,
an overwhelming feeling of gratitude,
and these feelings are from deep inside.
Because we want to thank you all so much,
your hopes and prayers kept the dream alive,
and without your unstinting love and support,
I don't think any of us would've survived.
We are absolutely convinced,
that Grace wouldn't be lying there,
if not for your positive thoughts,
and the power of your heartfelt prayer.
That love came from all around,
even from strangers we never knew,
but it was exactly that spirited kindness,
that helped to pull Grace (and us) through.
Grace has simply amazed us all,
more than once she gave us a start,
but she found the will and courage to fight,
she truly has a determined heart.
So we thank you for your precious gift,
we will forever be in your debt,
and we think that Grace is amazing,
and we know she hasn't even started yet !
We're so very proud of our baby,
I well up when I look into her angelic face,
there's only one name that could describe her:
you've guessed it - she's our Amazing

Amy kindly replied:
"...I love the poem!! The only thing
I'm not crazy about is the "ain't seen nothing yet" phrase."
(which was changed in the second draft)
