Eighty More - A birthday poem from good friends to another

back over the years,
been a really good friend of ours,
friendship has survived the seasons,
those passing showers.
lead a full and very exciting life,
traveled the world (once or twice),
we don't know of any other octogenarians,
are even as half as nice !
made Milwaukee famous?
question that has troubled most.
Jack was born and bred there,
fact that Milwaukee can proudly boast.
love your fine food,
all, you have exquisite taste,
slowly you savor your courses,
all; more feed, less haste !
postman sends his wishes too,
at least that's what he would like to log,
would have delivered this personally,
he can't get past your blasted dog !
learnt your stuff at Harvard,
one question I've always found too tough;
do you still call it a practice?
by now you've practiced enough?
love London, Paris and New York,
and how you love the stage !
maybe it's time you stopped doing the Can-Can,
it's time to act your age !
what we'd just like to say,
hope that you have a wonderful time,
hope that you have a wonderful day.
we'd like to add our thanks,
for being part of our lives,
are good taste personified,
its nice to see that taste survives.
we'd like to have the final word:
really shows what friends are for,
here's to you Jack Goodsitt,
here's to another Eighty More !
